Bis(2,2′-bipyridine)-4′-methyl-4-carboxybipyridine-ruthenium N-succinimidyl ester-bis(hexafluorophosphate) has been used:
- as a component in the preparation of ruthenium labelling agent solution (RuC) as an extrinsic fluorophore
- to stain protein in mass cytometry
- in the synthesis of ruthenium (Ru) gelatin
- in the preparation of streptavidin-Ru(bpy)32+ mixture involved in aptamer-magnetic bead electrochemiluminescence (ECL) sandwich assays
