Application

The Human Protein Atlas project can be subdivided into three efforts: Human Tissue Atlas, Cancer Atlas, and Human Cell Atlas. Actions biochimiques/physiologiques

PPM1B (protein phosphatase, Mg²⁺/Mn²⁺ dependent, 1B) is a serine/threonine phosphatase. It is highly associated with the negative regulation of IKKβ phosphorylation and activation. PPM1B binds to the activated IKKβ to dephosphorylate it at the serine residue sites. Dephosphorylated IKKβ restricts the IKKβ-mediated NF-κB activation. It has been reported that PPM1B plays an important role in the Yin-Yang regulatory mechanism balancing TNFα-mediated inflammatory responses. It has also ability to dephosphorylate CDK2 and CDK6 in vitro.
