Application

Actions biochimiques/physiologiques

AKAP8 (A kinase anchor protein 8) is a multivalent protein presents in the nucleus. It plays an important role in chromatin condensation and maintenance of condensed chromosomes during mitosis and in mitotic extract. It acts on the component of human condensin complex, such as human chromosome-associated protein (hCAP)-D2/Eg7 to regulate the association of condensin complex with chromosomes. It provides a scaffold like structure for the minichromosome maintenance (MCM) 2 protein, a component of the pre-replication complex, during replication.
