Specificity
Clone 2H10 is a ZooMAb® rabbit recombinant monoclonal antibody that detects DGAT2. It targets an epitope within 15 amino acids from the cytoplasmic domain of the protein.
Immunogen
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to 15 amino acids from the Cytoplasmic domain of human DGAT2.
Application
Quality Control Testing
Evaluated by Western Blotting in human liver tissue lysate.
Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution of this antibody detected DGAT2 in human liver tissue lysate.
Tested Applications
Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution from a representative lot detected DGAT2 in PC3 cell lysates and DGAT2 Recombinant Protein.
Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin) Analysis: A 1:100 dilution from a representative lot detected DGAT2 in human liver tissue sections.
Affinity Binding Assay Analysis: The binding affinity of this antibody to DGAT2 peptide was at least ten thousand-fold (10,000X) higher than that obtained with the non-specific control peptide.

Target description
Diacylglycerol O-acyltransferase 2 (UniProt: Q96PD7; also known as EC:2.3.1.20, Acyl-CoA retinol O-fatty-acyltransferase (ARAT; Retinol O-fatty-acyltransferase), Diglyceride acyltransferase 2) is encoded by the DGAT2 gene (Gene ID: 84649) in human. Diacylglycerol O-acyltransferase 2 (DGAT2) is an integral transmembrane protein, localized in the endoplasmic reticulum and on lipid droplets. It contains an N- and a C-terminal cytoplasmic domain (aa 1-69 and aa 113-388, respectively), two transmembrane domains (aa 78-88 and 93-112), and a lumenal region (aa 89-92). It plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism. DGAT2 catalyzes the final step in triglyceride synthesis, which involves the esterification of diacylglycerol with fatty acyl-CoA to form triglycerides. This enzymatic activity is important for the storage of dietary fats and the production of endogenous triglycerides. DGAT2 is primarily expressed in the liver and adipose tissue. DGAT2 has been implicated in the regulation of lipid homeostasis and energy balance and is considered a potential target for the development of therapeutic strategies against metabolic disorders such as obesity and dyslipidemia. This ZooMAb® recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated by our propriety technology, offers significantly enhanced specificity, affinity, reproducibility, and stability over conventional monoclonals.
Physical form
Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS with 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. The PBS/trehalose components in the ZooMAb formulation can have the appearance of a semi-solid (bead like gel) after lyophilization. This is a normal phenomenon. Please follow the recommended reconstitution procedure in the data sheet to dissolve the semi-solid, bead-like, gel-appearing material. The resulting antibody solution is completely stable and functional as proven by full functional testing. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 µL.
Storage and Stability
Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 µL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
