Gene Information

human ... MANBA(4126)

General description

Beta-mannosidase, also known as Lysosomal beta A mannosidase or Mannanase, or Mannase, and encoded by the gene MANBA/MANB1, is an exoglycosidase that cleaves the single beta-linked mannose residue from the non-reducing end of all N-linked glycoprotein oligosaccharides. Beta-mannosidase is localized to the lysosome. Beta-mannosidase is expressed in many cell types including fibroblasts, neutrophils and even neurons and glia. Defects in Beta-mannosidase may be associated with a mild disorder that affects peripheral and central nervous system myelin health and is called Mannosidoisis beta A. It is a lysosomal storage disorder that results in a mixture of clinical features from mental retardation, hearing loss and speech activities.

Immunogen

KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to human Beta-mannosidase.

Application

Anti-Beta-mannosidase Antibody, clone 1B3.1 is a highly specific mouse monoclonal antibody, that targets Mannosidase & has been tested in western blotting & IHC (Paraffin).
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:2,000 dilution from a representative lot detected Beta-mannosidase in human cerebral cortex tissue.
