General description

Purified mouse monoclonal antibody generated by immunizing mice with the specified immunogen and fusing splenocytes with P3 x 63 Ag 8.653 mouse myeloma cells (see application references). Recognizes the ~6 kDa denatured and native forms of TGFα protein.
Recognizes the ~6 kDa TGF-α protein in A2058 and ST-FeSVFRE cells.
This Anti-TGF-α (Ab-1) Mouse mAb (134A-2B3) is validated for use in Immunoblotting for the detection of TGF-α (Ab-1).

Immunogen

Human
recombinant, human TGF-α (~6 kDa mature form)

Application

Immunoblotting (1-5 µg/ml, see application references)

Packaging

Please refer to vial label for lot-specific concentration.

Warning

Toxicity: Standard Handling (A)

Physical form

In 50 mM sodium phosphate buffer, 0.2% gelatin.

Reconstitution

We recommend resuspending the lyophilized antibody with sterile PBS, pH 7.4, to yield a final concentration of 100 µg/ml; product will be more stable if 0.1% sodium azide is included (do not add azide if antibody is to be used with viable cells). Lyophilized antibodies should be resuspended at 4°C with occasional gentle mixing for at least 2 h. Following reconstitution, refrigerate (4°C) or aliquot and freeze (-20°C).

Analysis Note

Negative Control
NIH3T3 cells
Positive Control
A2058 or ST-FeSV FRE cells

Neutrophil elastase (NE) plays an important role in emphysema, a pulmonary disease associated with excessive elastolysis and ineffective repair of interstitial elastin. Besides its direct elastolytic activity, NE releases soluble epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) ligands and initiates EGFR/MEK/ERK signaling
