General description
Anti-Monkeypox virus/MPXV A29L Antibody, clone SAA0286, is a monoclonal antibody produced in mouse. It is a single, highly specific, cloned antibody that is directed against the A29L protein of the monkeypox virus. It is composed of two heavy chains and two light chains, linked together by disulfide bonds. The heavy chains contain the antigen-binding region, and the light chains contain the constant region. The antigen-binding region is composed of two variable domains, which are responsible for recognizing and binding to the antigen.
Monkeypox virus (MPXV), like smallpox virus, belongs to the genus Orthopoxvirus. Its morphology is consistent with that of orthopoxvirus, with a brick-shaped or oval shape with rounded corners and a size of 200~400nm. Brick-shaped or oval-shaped, covered by a lipoprotein membrane or envelope, with two protein-containing side bodies in the middle, and a thick membrane core containing a large double-stranded DNA gene body. The genome of Mpox virus is a double-stranded DNA, about 197kb long, and the end of the genome contains an identical but opposite terminal inverted repeat sequence. The virus contains 190 open reading frames, 4 of which are located in terminal inverted repeats. The core proteins of monkeypox virus are A29L, A35R, B6R, M1R, H3L.

Specificity
Monoclonal Anti-Monkeypox virus/MPXV A29L Antibody, clone SAA0286 binds to the A29L protein of the monkeypox virus, thereby inhibiting its ability to replicate and spread. This prevents the virus from causing infection and disease. The antibody also has the ability to neutralize the virus, which further prevents it from causing infection.
