Gene Information

human ... GLYAT(10249)

General description

The glycine-N-acyltransferase protein conjugates glycine with acyl-CoA substrates in the mitochondria. The protein is thought to be important in the detoxification of endogenous and xenobiotic acyl-CoA′s. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. (provided by RefSeq)

Immunogen

GLYAT (AAH09785.1, 1 a.a. ~ 163 a.a) full-length human protein.

Neisseria gonorrhoeae uses a type IV secretion system (T4SS) to secrete chromosomal DNA into the medium, and this DNA is effective in transforming other gonococci via natural transformation. In addition, the T4SS is important in the initial stages of biofilm
