ES24 is an Eeyarestatin 1 analog that blocks protein translocation in vitro and more effectively enhances Sec61-mediated Ca²⁺ leakage from Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER). Apparently ES24 keep Sec61 in open position allowing Ca²⁺ ions to move freely through the aqueous channel present. It causes cell-type-specific Ca²⁺-dependent cell death.
