AG-205 has been used to investigate the neuroprotective effects of norgestrel on stressed photoreceptors. It has also been used to study the effect of blocking progesterone receptor membrane component 1 in 661W cells.
생화학적/생리학적 작용
AG-205 is a Pgrmc1 (progesterone receptor membrane component 1) inhibitor.
AG-205 is a Pgrmc1 (progesterone receptor membrane component 1) inhibitor. AG-205 alters the spectroscopic properties of the Pgrmc1-heme complex. AG-205 inhibits cancer cell viability and cancer cell progression. acting preferentially on Pgrmc1-expressing cells.
Pgrmc1 is a cytochrome associated protein. It is found to be upregulated in several cancer types such as breast, lung and gastric cancer. Pgrmc1 regulates the epidermal growth factor signaling.

Well-timed progression of primordial folliculogenesis is essential for mammalian female fertility. Progesterone (P4) inhibits primordial follicle formation under physiological conditions; however, P4 receptor that mediates this effect and its underlying mechanisms are unclear.
