Potent and selective FK506-binding protein 51 (FKBP51) inhibitor that stimulates neurite growth in cultures and exhibits antidepressant-like effects in vivo.



SAFit2 is a brain-penetrant, potent and selective FK506-binding protein 51 inhibitor (Ki = 6 nM/FKBP51 vs. >50 μM/FKBP52) that enhances neurite growth in murine Neuro 2A (N2a) cultures (1-10 nM) and improves neuroendocrine feedback and stress-coping behavior in mice in vivo (20 mg/kg i.p.).
