General description

Danofloxacin Mesylate is a synthetic, broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone with antibacterial activity. Danofloxacin Mesylate exerts its antibacterial activity by inhibiting DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes that are essential for bacterial DNA synthesis and replication.

Application

Have been studied for their applications as scaffolds for the development of new antibiotics and other drugs targeting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Danofloxacin Mesylate inhibits bacterial DNA synthesis by interfering with the activity of DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV enzymes, which are necessary for the replication, transcription, and repair of bacterial DNA. Danofloxacin Mesylate is active against Gram-negative, Gram-positive bacteria, mycoplasma.
