The ADRB2 gene is mapped on the human chromosome at 5q32. β-2 Adrenergic Receptor is a seven-transmembrane protein that consists of α helices. The N-terminal is extracellular whereas the C-terminal is intracellular.

It contains a common non-synonymous single nucleotide polymorphism. Epinephrine activates ADRB2 impairing keratinocyte migration. β2-adrenoceptor pathway is essential for cardiovascular regulation.
